When it’s time to replace an appliance, we know it can be tempting to call a big box store. Their prices and flexible payment options make it seem like a good option. However, nothing could be farther from the truth in our industry. Unfortunately we run into problem after problem when dealing with these stores. It usually ends up costing time and money and can be a huge inconvenience to your guests, which could cost more money in the form of a refund. You could end up paying for delivery, haul-off, and downtime. To be clear, there isn’t anything inherently wrong with purchasing from these stores. We only want to point out that they are generally designed to service a typical residential market, not a commercial condo market. We strongly recommend making your appliance purchases from one of our local appliance stores that cater to our busy vacation rental market, where time is of the essence and impeccable service is required. Their entire business model revolves around the commercial condo market. Though the assumption may be that the smaller business can’t be competitive, they are actually extremely cost effective. Their turnaround times are minimal compared to a big box store; sometimes they can even deliver the same day. They understand what is at stake when you have a refrigerator that goes out on July 3rd.
